The rise of the chatbots

As mentioned in an other article, messaging is getting bigger than social. The irony, it was Facebook that succeeded to bring this massive adoption in no time. By creating Facebook Messenger they succeeded to hit it big! Chat and messaging has never been hotter.

Instant asynchronous interaction, with a wide variety of features are with no doubt part of this major success. The multi-device approach, supported by the continuously growth of broadband, is fulfilling the new sociological need to connect and stay in total control.

It was this instant interaction that inspired companies to discover a new way to communicate with their contacts and fulfill the need of direct response.

Specific chatbot coding facilitates customer support questions, FAQ's and e-commerce by using a pre-programmed library of possible scenarios. Even direct payment can be part of a chatbot shopping experience.

Simply combining the chatbot application with your CRM system information enables your to bring a highly personalized experience to the end-user. You become in essence the professional shopping assistent or support agent of a virtual unlimited number of direct contacts.

I'm therefore extremely excited to see what this new trend will have to offer in the overall user experience. My first personal tests look extremely promising and I must say, I was very impressed by the easy of use  of the chatbot wysiwyg editors.
